ACCESS STATEMENT

THE APARTMENT

20 Burgh Island Causeway is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom self catering apartment located on the top floor of an apartment block consisting of three floors in total.  The top floor is a level walk from the communal front door.  The two floors below are accessed via an internal staircase or the lift, both of which are accessed from the communal lobby area.

TO THE APARTMENT

From the car park, a short downhill walk takes you to a wooden staircase to block 1 where apartment 20 is located. There is low level lighting in the car park and on the staircase, but a torch can be useful.

Take one step up onto the staircase and then 8 steps down and a short walk to the communal front door.   Enter the code provided to unlock the door.

Turn the door handle lever downwards and push heavily to open the door.  Take one step up over the threshold of the communal door (measuring 73cm wide) into the communal lobby area and then a level walk takes you to the apartment front door passing through one internal door, opening inwards and measuring 70cm wide.

The front door is 69cm wide and there is a level walk across the threshold.

The apartment key is enclosed in a lock box outside the front door (requiring the lining up of a sequence of numbers). Unlock the front door and push heavily to open the door.

Inside the apartment all internal doors are single openings and measure 70cm wide and all doors including the front door, have strong fire door closers on them.

All flooring is Karndean (wood appearance) with a small bedside rug at either side of the bed in the Master bedroom and a small rug in between the single beds in the twin room. There is also a large rug in the lounge area.

The Master bedroom  en-suite has a walk in shower with a 10cm step up into the shower enclosure.

The twin bedroom en-suite has a full-sized L-shaped bath with shower over.  The height of the bath panel is 57cm.

There are key operated sliding glazed doors to the balcony and a level walk across the threshold onto decking boards.  Glazed sides secure the balcony on two sides and a wall on the third.

The apartment is very well lit with rooms benefitting from ceiling spot-lights and table lamps.  Additionally, in the lounge/kitchen/dining area there are 4 wall lights and a standard lamp.

There is underfloor heating in the lounge/kitchen/dining/hallway areas and electric wall heaters in both bedrooms. These heating options can be temperature controlled.  There are electric towel rails in both bathrooms, which operate at set times of the day at a set temperature.

TO THE LEISURE FACILITIES

The leisure facilities are located on the ground floor of the apartment block in the separate Leisure Club building.  From the communal lobby area of Block 1, take the lift to the ground floor (0) and exit to outside using the door found in the ground floor communal lobby area (measuring 73cm wide).

Should the lift be out of order, take the staircase from the lobby area to the ground floor (29 steps).

There is one step down to the lit concrete path outside and turn right.

Follow the path to the rear door of the Leisure Club reception ahead of you and there are 5 steps up to the doors.

On this level is access to all the areas the club has to offer.  There is a disabled toilet, good lighting and tiled flooring.
